Medical Technologist

  • Performs the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical preparations of patient / clinical samples to assist a physician in treating or diagnosing different medical conditions.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Performs laboratory protocols and experiments with the guidance of the laboratory supervisor and manager.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
  • Sample intake
  • RNA isolation from blood and other samples e.g., saliva
  • cDNA synthesis
  • qRT-PR
  • CData Analysis
  • Operating, maintaining, and calibrating all general lab equipment.

Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Research and analysis skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to follow biohazard guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to closely read instructions.

    • Job Requirements

    Meet one of the following requirements :

  • Be a doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathy, or doctor of podiatric medicine licensed to practice medicine, osteopathy, or podiatry in the State in which the laboratory is located or -
  • Have earned a doctoral, master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or -

    • (No ASCP required)
