The Chief Engineer Plant Operations facilitates delivery of on-boarding, training, quality monitoring, and optimization of service within the Plant Operations Engineering Department at Delnor Hospital. This position works in coordination with the Manager, Plant Operations to construct, implement, and monitor quantitative and qualitative measurement programs that promote safe and continual improvement of the physical plant and increase the quality of customer service. The Chief Engineer Plant Operations works closely with all division managers, coordinators and staff to achieve a program of service excellence.

Responsibilities :

• Oversees daily operations of the Engineering staff within the Plant Operations department, coordinates staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance routines.
• Identifies, investigates, and assists in the implementation of new tools / technology necessary to maintain and improve productivity, effectiveness, quality, customer service, reduce risk and / or reduce costs.
• Develops the department budget and is responsible for tracking expenses and maintaining budget.
• Engages in coaching, feedback and performance improvement strategies as needed.
• Writes and delivers annual performance reviews for all staff.
• Identifies overall trends and works with manager and partners with leadership to devise programmatic improvements.
• Leads and develops employee engagement participation and improvement.
• Assists in leading and / or developing plans with team, and Manager to ensure patient satisfaction goals are met.
• Leads training and coaching exercises with employees to continuously improve skill-sets.
• Facilitates a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to patient satisfaction and interdepartmental problem solving / service delivery.
• Ensures regulatory compliance (JCAHO, IDPH, etc.) procedures and documentation are in a state of "constant readiness".
• Is actively involved with industry specific organizations to stay well-informed of new and changing developments within the field.
