We are proud to be working with a long-established, highly regarded small animal hospital in Bridgeport, CT, who are seeking a Medical Director to lead their compassionate and collaborative team.

This hospital has been serving its community for over 25 years and is known for its loyal client base and strong reputation for continuity of care. The facility includes two exam rooms, a dedicated surgery suite, an in-house lab with IDEXX equipment, and a spacious treatment and reception area. The culture is described as close-knit and family-like, with excellent staff retention - many team members have been there for over a decade.

You will be stepping into a leadership role with a supportive hospital manager and regional operations team, guiding two newer veterinarians while also carrying a caseload. The retiring founder leaves behind a legacy of mentorship and high standards of care, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the next chapter of this hospital's growth. Importantly, this role offers a 4-day work week, no weekends, and no on-call responsibilities, supporting a healthy work-life balance.

About You

  • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
  • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in Connecticut
  • At least 5 years' experience in practice, with advanced surgical and dental skills preferred
  • Confident leadership style and interest in mentoring less experienced DVMs
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, family-like culture
