Sr Software Engineer

Support Center - IrvingMichaels Software Engineers will develop technologies that change how our customers connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a Sr Software Engineer, you will contribute to projects critical to Michaels needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.

Major Activities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Improve system quality by identifying issues, common patterns and developing standard operating procedures
• Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, make recommendations and design and implement systems
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• Mentor and advise teammates
• Work with teams to select, test, and implement new technical designs
• Investigate and use new technologies where relevant
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in code reviews and lead team discussions
• Debug and troubleshoot escalated software issues
• Recommend emerging technologies and industry trends to pursue
