PeopleSoft Application System Admin

6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Location : REMOTE

Pay : $50-60 / hr (Compensation can vary depending on experience)

General Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application System Administrator to install, configure, and support application environments. This role involves maintaining third-party software across environments, ensuring system performance, and providing technical guidance to developers and IT teams.

Responsibilities

Software Support

  • Install, configure, and patch third-party application software.
  • Manage service and generic accounts, permissions, and access validation.
  • Create and deploy build packages across DEV, QAT, and PROD.
  • Monitor and optimize software performance; recommend and implement upgrades.
  • Assist developers with debugging and integration issues.
  • Review documentation for upgrades / enhancements and assess system impact.

Environment Support

  • Monitor application performance, storage, and log files; automate processes when possible.
  • Generate and analyze system performance metrics; recommend improvements.
  • Provide on-call incident and outage support.
  • Manage databases, backups, firewall requests, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Troubleshoot system and application issues; create scripts for automation.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure reliable, optimized environments.
  • Administrative & Leadership

  • Mentor and train junior associates.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with change, release, incident, and audit requirements.
  • Lead technical upgrades, manage service requests, assign resources, and coordinate support rotations.
  • Communicate status updates and provide feedback to team members.
  • Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft and PeopleTools installations / upgrades, patching using Change Assistant
  • Experience with 9.2 applications and using latest patching methods (PUM) from Oracle including DPK
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft security, debugging, tuning, and integrations.
  • Familiarity with Phire, MIM, XML technologies, and web services.
  • Strong SQL and SQL Server skills; experience with restores, refreshes, and cloning.
  • Understanding of system / application architecture and database schemas.
  • Effective communicator with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and continuously learn.
  • Leadership qualities : mentoring, coaching, providing feedback, and aligning team goals.
