Summary

We are seeking an emergency response medical professional who can deliver immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses such as cardiac arrests or strokes. As a Paramedic, you will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient care is transferred to the accepting medical facility.

Job Duties

• Represent our ambulance service at public events and provide on-site emergency stand-by services when necessary.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments in our patient care charting software.
• Care for patients in psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises with medical, therapeutic, and trauma services.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment including bag valve mask resuscitators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries to prioritize and establish medical procedures needed for stabilization and transport.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions and safely operate emergency vehicles in compliance with regulations.
• Administer medications as prescribed by a physician, either through injections or IV procedures.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel at the receiving facility regarding patient treatment.
• Ensure thorough cleaning and decontamination of equipment and ambulance post-transport of infectious patients.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead are required.
