One of Volaris Group’s most dynamic, fast-growing, and boldest portfolios, the Omegro Portfolio, is looking for a dynamic legal counsel for it's US region. The legal team support acquisitions and businesses globally, with majority of businesses based across the US, Canada, Asia, and the Pacific.
As a team member of a small in-house legal team, you will be responsible for a range of corporate (M&A) and commercial work, and your contributions will have direct impact on the businesses you support.
Summary :
Role
You will join a small legal team supporting the Omegro portfolio, including operational needs of numerous technology businesses and M&A activities. While working within the Volaris governance framework, you will have a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to contribute and provide expertise in how our businesses lead the industry while managing risk.

Team & workplace
You will be a key member of a small remote legal team, reporting to a Head of Legal (based in New Zealand). You will interact directly with the businesses that your team supports, which are located across the US, Canada, Asia, and the Pacific. Your stakeholders comprise emerging and experienced businesspeople, who will look to you for relevant, timely and practical advice for predominately US laws. They are focused and forward thinking, and value similar qualities in their legal team.

The role would be suited to someone with good business acumen who can work remotely, independently and juggle multiple priorities. The ability to quickly adjust to different priorities is important as is the ability to execute consistently on business-as-usual tasks. The role will require pragmatic and efficient decision making whilst being considerate of risk. Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate internal and external collaboration across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders will be critical to success.
Requirements
The role is an in-house legal role, so you will need to hold a law degree and be permitted to work as a solicitor in your jurisdiction. A minimum of 7 years’ experience is required, with significant experience being in-house. The role can be performed remotely from either Central or Western US time zones, requiring you to have the right to work, and additionally the ability to travel domestically and internationally occasionally.
