POSITION : Campus Security Guard (El Paso TX Campuses)

REPORTS TO : Director of Safety & Security and Campus Principal

POSSIBLE LOCATION PLACEMENT :

  • DaVinci School for Science and the Arts (West Side)
  • The Linguistic Academy of El Paso (West Side)
  • Howard Burnham Elementary (West Side)
  • Vista del Futuro Charter School (East Side)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 240 days - Independent Contractor

PAY RANGE : Starting at $17 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS :

Must be at least eighteen years of age

High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

Associates degree or higher preferred

Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school aged children

Ability to follow and written and verbal directions

Ability to clearly and accurately record information

Ability to work effectively with youths and adults

Bilingual preferred (Spanish / English)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Patrol assigned campus and report any suspicious or behavior that could be detrimental to the school community

Enforce school rules and protocols related to students staff and visitors

Resolve conflict or confrontations and report disturbances to supervisor(s)

Work cooperatively with campus staff including but not limited to administration school service works front office personnel and other safety / security personnel

Assist the law enforcement personnel as needed

Provide instructions and guidance to visitors requesting to enter campus

Create an environment that is conducive to learning

Treat all students with dignity and respect

Maintain a neat and organized space

Greet parents and children with kindness

Request proper identification for student pickup

OTHER :

  • Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
