About the Role

Were looking for a Designer to join eBays Visual Communications & Merch team. This role sits at the intersection of brand storytelling internal communications and scalable design systems.

Youll help bring eBays internal and seller stories to life through visuals that inform inspire and connect people around the world. Working with design leads communicators and campaign strategists youll create cohesive on-brand experiences across campaigns editorial content and seller engagement materials.

This role is perfect for a designer who loves building structure and clarity someone who can translate creative direction into scalable systems templates and AI-assisted workflows that help eBay communicate efficiently and beautifully at global scale.

What Youll Do

1. Editorial Design

Design visual assets for eBays internal editorial platforms including Hub articles banners and feature illustrations.

Maintain a unified editorial design system that ensures visual consistency accessibility and creative excellence.

Use AI-assisted design tools to generate adapt and scale visuals while maintaining brand integrity.

Build and manage a visual asset library for the Seller Engagement team including templates and creative toolkits that enable fast consistent content creation.

2. Campaign & Visual Development

Partner with Communications Marketing and Brand teams to deliver campaign visuals across Slack email and digital channels.

Support the Lead Designer (Sam) in turning campaign concepts into scalable assets and templates.

Experiment with AI and automation tools to increase efficiency adaptability and global reach.

3. Internal Communications Design

Design for internal storytelling moments Town Halls leadership decks and company-wide events.

Turn complex ideas into engaging visuals through layouts infographics and presentations.

Use generative tools to prototype and repurpose assets quickly ensuring alignment with eBays brand system.

4. Systems Scale & Governance

Build and evolve scalable design systems templates and documentation to support global consistency.

Develop visual playbooks that define standards and guide internal teams.

Identify automation opportunities that simplify workflows while preserving creativity and brand cohesion.

Champion responsible AI adoption using emerging tools thoughtfully to enhance design at scale.

5. Collaboration & Creative Consultation

Partner with Brand Merchandising and Creative Studio teams to ensure consistency across all visual touchpoints.

Provide design guidance for new initiatives helping teams translate ideas into polished on-brand visuals.

Act as a bridge between creative direction and scalable execution ensuring systems empower not replace innovation.

Experienced : 57 years in a design role ideally in brand marketing or communications.

Structured : Skilled at creating systems and frameworks that make design more efficient and scalable.

Tech-Savvy : Curious about new tools especially AI and automation that enhance creative workflows.

Collaborative : Thrive in a team setting partnering across disciplines to deliver unified visual storytelling.

Detail-Oriented : Balance creativity with precision ensuring every deliverable reflects eBays identity.

Skills & Tools

Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator Photoshop InDesign).

Figma or similar design collaboration tools.

Strong grasp of layout typography accessibility and color theory.

Experience designing presentation decks (Google Slides PowerPoint).

Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools scalable templates and automated workflows.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below :

$70000 - $120700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including location skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
