Facilities Project Manager
We are seeking a Project Manager to serve as a long-term consultant and oversee and bring to completion a range of internal capital projects (capex), varying from $25,000 to multimillion-dollar ventures; these may involve facility expansion, upgrades and / or retrofits. This role requires a balance of onsite engagement and office-based project management, with a focus on working closely with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage and see through the completion of internal capital projects.
- Spend 50% of time at the plant and 50% at the office.
- Meet with stakeholders to outline and scope projects.
- Work with third-party vendors on technical issues.
- Cut purchase orders and coordinate logistics for equipment installations.
- Conduct job walks, markups, and redlining on designs.
- Work with manufacturing teams and resolve project escalations.
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and performance objectives.
- Guide external resources to accomplish new designs or modifications.
- Prepare RFQs and obtain competitive bids for labor and material costs.
- Analyze and recommend bids to develop a budget.
- Guide internal engineering team and external contractors as needed.
- Manage onsite contractors for safe and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate with plant maintenance and operations during various project phases.
Essential Skills
3+ years of strong project management experience.3+ years of industrial plant experience (chemical, oil, pulp & paper, steel, or similar).Demonstrated experience with capex related projects - facilities upgrades, equipment installs, etc.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Projects, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).Self-motivated with the ability to work through bottlenecks and meet deadlines.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering; possibly Construction Engineering or Management.Knowledge of safety codes and building codes (OSHA and NAFT).Familiarity with pressure vessels and hydraulics.Experience with AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D.Experience managing timelines, budgets, and using MS tools.Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external resources.Work Environment
The position involves a mix of working 50% on the manufacturing floor, engaging with different teams and groups on projects, and 50% in the office, focusing on project reviews and vendor communications. The company offers a diverse workload with long-term stability and opportunities for career growth. Opportunity is located in the mid-valley, and candidates must be able to work onsite every day. Local talent from the southern Portland Metro, Salem, Albany and Eugene areas will be prioritized.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $55.00 / hr.
