Job Overview

The Occupational Therapist II provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, treatment, follow up and documentation using general competencies for outpatients referred to the OT department. Provides guidance for occupational therapy intern students and therapy aides / assistants with specific patients or tasks. Provides continuous consultation and education to families. The Occupational Therapist II successfully fulfills the requirements of a specified area or completes and maintains the Career Advancement Program (CAP), demonstrating both excellence in job performance and on-going contributions in service, education and research, and professional development and leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
• Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services.
• Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location and time frames.
• Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and / or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
• Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets
• Demonstrates professional behaviors; adheres to hospital and departmental policies and promotes personal and departmental development through participation in development activities to improve the patient experience and quality goals of the department and hospital. Provides consultation and education to families.
• Treat children with a variety of diagnoses, and in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring / training and consults with relative Clinical Practice Specialist and / or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week) : $84,558.69 to $126,838.03
