Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer (Sup TE), the Licensed Engineer will serve as the Deputy Project Manager. This role involves overseeing technical designs for preliminary and advanced engineering documents and deliverables.
The Deputy Project Manager will manage and track specific tasks and deliverables within the design contract, ensuring compliance with the policies and procedures of the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), the State Contracting Manual (SCM), and the California Government Code (GC).
Additionally, the incumbent will ensure that assigned contracts and agreements are administered and managed in accordance with federal and State of California laws and regulations, contract provisions, and the Authoritys policies and procedures.
Furthermore, the Deputy Project Manager will assist in coordinating utility and local facility relocations impacted by the Authoritys project.

Profile
General knowledge of various phases of high-speed rail project development with specific knowledge of the preliminary and detailed design phases for the civil works (alignment, earthworks, drainage, structures, road and public utility diversions, construction method).
This includes coordination with rail systems (track, power supply, overhead contact line, signaling, telecommunications), train operations, construction scheduling and testing and commissioning.
