CAD Technician
The CAD Technician provides data and services using cutting-edge technology. The Mapping, Surveying, and CAD Branch uses the latest software, workstations, and equipment when providing services to its customers. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse group of skilled professionals in the CAD Drafting, GIS, LiDAR mapping, and drone technology environments.

We Require :
Two years of engineering drafting and / or CADD work experienceAssociate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or CAD DraftingA combination of post-secondary education and / or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basisMust have the ability to obtain a valid FAA Part 107 License Remote Pilot Certificate within six months of the hire dateWe Also Value :
Proficiency in Bentley CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads)Basic GIS knowledgeKnowledge of survey data, mapping, and topographic interpretationSkill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of specialized softwareJob Contributions :
Produce technically accurate drawings for civil engineering design projects using MicroStation / OpenRoads / InRoads software. This includes producing horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, and cross-sections of existing and design projectsReview LiDAR and photogrammetric mapping data to ensure necessary mapping accuracies and specifications are maintainedOperate and maintain sUAS / Drones for use in mapping, surveying, and inspections. Use Bentley iTwin Modeler to create Reality Model and subsequent mapping data. Duties include flight plan preparation, data collection, processing, and documentation. Keep up to date on Federal, State, and Local statutes and regulations regarding sUAS / Drone operationsUse GIS and automated drafting / mapping tools and programsUnderstand and apply principles and practices of land surveying and general engineering. Produce accurate drawings and exhibits from field survey dataWorking Conditions :
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantlyPosition is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditionsSelection Procedure :
