Phlebotomist
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory. Responsibilities include collecting blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques, labeling, processing, and delivering specimens for testing, maintaining supplies and equipment, and performing additional tasks as necessary or assigned. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited phlebotomy program, and BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before the start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
