Position : Payment Operations Specialist
Contract Type : 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Schedule : Fully Onsite | Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Position Overview
The Payment Operations Specialist I supports payment processing functions within a financial institution. This role is responsible for validating and authenticating payment files, processing high-volume transactions, and performing necessary adjustments and postings. All duties must be performed in accordance with NACHA rules, Regulation E, Regulation CC, and the organization's internal policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Validate and authenticate payment files daily, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Process payment exceptions, including dispute resolutions and adjustment requests.
Provide professional, timely customer service by addressing basic inquiries and concerns.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify and report potentially suspicious activity to reduce risk.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED required
Experience :
1+ year of banking or financial services experience
1+ year of customer service experience
Skills & Competencies :
Strong analytical and data review skills
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
Sound decision-making and critical thinking skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
General computer literacy
Must comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
