Director, Revenue Accounting
Bentley Systems is looking for a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead the company's global revenue recognition and reporting function. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the position is responsible for maintaining documentation and oversight of the application of Company accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulation on a global basis. This is a high-profile position with directly visibility to the CFO, CRO and other members of the executive management team.
Responsibilities include :
- Global process owner for revenue accounting and analysis function. Lead a growing team currently consisting of five colleagues.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing various month-end / quarter-end close activities, including but not limited to RevPro administration, journal entry review, account reconciliations, disclosures, and ad hoc analysis.
- Develop strong business partnerships with sales, legal and other teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies, answer questions and be an enabler to business growth
- Assist our Portfolio Development and acquisition team to review the revenue recognition policies of target companies.
- Hold responsibility for the company's overall compliance with ASC 606, Revenue From Contracts with Customers, and oversee the review of sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
- Prepare and / or review technical accounting positions on new complex arrangements.
- Oversee quarterly analysis of revenue performance and key metrics as disclosed in the MD&A section of the Company's SEC filings.
- Drive worldwide fair value policy and responsible for managing worldwide SSP analysis and compliance.
- Consult with and advise senior leadership, product, and operations counterparts on revenue recognition and the impact on new and existing business models.
- Oversee all aspects of the external audit relative to contract reviews and revenue recognition (accounting / controls), globally.
- Liaise with external auditors to evaluate new arrangements and technical accounting issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls for revenue processes
- Work with stakeholders and build a deep understanding of the QTC and revenue recognition process to further streamline processes, implement new, or changes to, commercial offerings, and assist in acquisition integration.
- Coordinate between functions to identify and facilitate data analytics, visual dashboards, and reports for key business initiatives, new strategies, or KPIs
- This role will require travel to our Exton, PA office if not local on a quarterly basis, potential for additional minimal travel.
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).
Qualifications include :
Bachelor's degree and CPA required with a strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, specifically software revenue recognition (ASC 606)10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience including Big 4 and public company experience.Experience working for or serving companies in the software or technology industry.RevPro and SalesForce / Workday ERP knowledge preferred.Excellent analytical and interpersonal skillsStrong communication and influencing skills.
