Location & Work Arrangement

  • Location : Glen Allen, Virginia
  • Work Arrangement : Hybrid (On-site presence required, including a mandatory on-site day on Monday).
  • Contract : This is a Contract position.
  • Mode of Interview : Either Phone or In Person.
  • Note : The candidate must physically reside within the US for the duration of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Modernization : Lead the technical effort to upgrade enterprise applications to WebSphere 9 and Java 8 / 17 .
  • Browser Remediation : Identify and eliminate IE11 compatibility settings and code, ensuring applications function correctly across modern web browsers.
  • Development & Frameworks : Develop solutions, implement user stories, and maintain existing code using a strong command of JSP, Java Script, Struts 1.x and 2.x, EJB, and JPA .
  • Security & Compliance : Analyze and fix security vulnerabilities ( Veracode flaws ) reported by Static Code Analysis ( SAST ) tools. Apply expertise in OWASP / SAST tool usage to harden applications.
  • Database Interaction : Utilize Oracle as the backend database environment for application integration.
  • Tools & SDLC : Use Maven for build management and GitHub for version control. Employ web browser debug tools for troubleshooting and validation.
