Position : Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Designer Sheet Metal, DFMA, CREO)

Location : Peoria, IL Onsite

Citizenship : U.S. Citizens only (Dual citizenship not allowed)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in 3D modeling and detailed design using PTC Creo . The ideal candidate will have significant experience in sheet metal design , DFMA , and Caterpillar-specific design tools / systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and design documentation using CREO .
  • Design and develop mechanical components with strong emphasis on sheet metal and DFMA principles .
  • Work onsite with engineering teams to support new product development and design modifications.
  • Utilize Caterpillar-specific systems and processes for design workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering).

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 710 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CREO : modeling, assemblies, detailing.
  • Strong expertise in sheet metal design and DFMA.
  • Ability to create high-quality drawings and design documentation.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Caterpillar systems including :
  • Teamcenter
  • SDP tools : Fluid Lines, Electric Lines, Sheet Metal modules
  • Prior Caterpillar or heavy equipment industry experience.
