Job Summary

• Location will be primarily at Parnassus Heights, but will orient at all locations at Mission Bay, Mt. Zion, St. Mary's and St. Francis hospitals.

The cook works as a team to provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the customer and patient's needs. This person is responsible for preparation of food for Patient Food Services, Retail Food Services, and Catering Services. Other related duties include stocking, assembling, and serving portion controlled hot and cold food, replenishing and stocking stations, and general sanitation duties. This person establishes and monitors food quality and temperature standards to ensure consistency and highest quality standards for Nutrition & Food Services. This person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the foodservice areas and equipment. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions and is looked upon as the Culinary Ambassador for the department of Nutrition & Food Services.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $31.20 - $41.99 (Hourly Rate).
