Job Description
Cost Engineer – Mechanical Scope
Location : Austin, TX area

You’ll play a key role in managing change orders, analyzing budgets, and ensuring contracts align with project goals. What You’ll Do :
- Analyze and negotiate subcontractor change orders and commercial terms
- Interpret AIA, MSA, and Work Order agreements
- Review cost impacts of design changes, VE proposals, and project risks
- Cross-reference drawings, specs, and contract documents for cost alignment
- Prepare presentations and reports for client review / approval
- Maintain and update budget trend logs and cost tracking systems
- Use tools like Bluebeam, Navisworks, CAD, Revit, and Trimble to support analysis
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and market surveys for labor / material pricing
- Support the cost manager with issue resolution and reporting
- Document and track all cost- and contract-related communications
