The Software Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of computer software to implement various internal software packages relating directly to electrical engineering requirements.
General Responsibilities
- Handles the developing of complex software in selected languages for Sensata products and / or applications consistently following Sensata’s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes
- Introduces new development of software to control external hardware for automated test equipment and other applicable development
- Handles software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process
- Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionality as part of a software project
- Handles participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
Experience / Qualifications

Handles analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design
Handles the development of end-user tools for data analysis, reporting and work flow processes with database communication
Writes code using lower-level assembly languages and / or higher-level languages and translating / compiling into machine language for use on specific hardware
Supports software testing, deployment, and maintenance activities by correcting programming errors and coding software enhancements
