Overview

Location : 3205 N Twyman Rd, Independence, MO 64058

Salary : $60,000 to $80,000, depending on experience

Schedule : Monday - Friday 9 : 00am - 5 : 00pm, flexible

As an Assistant Program Director at Embark Behavioral Health, you’ll lead a residential team dedicated to supporting teens (ages 12–17) through their mental health journey. In this leadership role, you’ll work alongside the Program Director to ensure the program runs safely, effectively, and in alignment with Embark’s values. You’ll help shape culture, support team development, and make a lasting impact in the lives of adolescents and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Guide Residential and Facility Managers in maintaining a values-driven environment that promotes effective operations and resident well-being
  • Strengthen team performance through structured training, skill development, and direct support where needed
  • Communicate with families , external professionals, and agencies to develop comprehensive treatment and development plans for students
  • Coordinate with clinical, educational, and operational teams to ensure consistent and purposeful daily programming
  • Oversee residential operations , including student supervision, regulatory compliance, HIPAA standards, and internal policy adherence
  • Address crises , including being part of the monthly on-call rotation, using established de-escalation and stabilization techniques
  • Elevate program effectiveness through regular review, accurate documentation, and updates to curriculum and care models
  • Manage payroll documentation, including timecard approvals and leave requests, with attention to accuracy and deadlines
  • Participate in management and treatment team meetings to ensure alignment across departments and to maintain operational consistency

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid (training provided)
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a residential treatment or behavioral health setting preferred
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and holding relevant certifications (., RBT, DDP) is a plus
