Overview
The Corporate Communications department at Publix spearheads internal communications and press releases, publishes monthly newsletters and annual benefits notices, handles department-specific communications, and manages digital content for Publix's internally facing platforms.
Within the department, the Email & Intranet Communications Support position will manage and execute
mass email communications processes internal to Publix and
routine content maintenance and ad hoc requests for associate digital communication platforms internal to Publix (like intranet and extranet websites).
This position is responsible for making sure email communications go out to store associates timely, so they know what actions to execute daily. This position also makes sure companywide announcements are sent and published on time.
What you’ll do
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for email processing and execution within the corporate communications department.
Manage routine content maintenance for digital platforms and ad hoc requests, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned, such as executing on deliverables connected to crisis communications (business disruptions, etc.).
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in communications or related area (or equivalent experience)
At least 2 years of experience with business writing and communicating with various levels of management
Knowledge of communication principles
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

Time management skills
Ability to work independently, be flexible and highly productive, and multi-task

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
Willingness to work a flexible schedule with extended hours (including nights or weekends), as needed
Preferred or Additional Qualifications
Associate’s degree in communications or related area
2 or more years of Publix retail experience
1 year of experience using the Associated Press (AP) style for writing and editing communications
1 year of experience using a content management system
APR or ABC (Accredited in Public Relations or Business Communications)
Knowledge of content management systems
Knowledge of HTML
Knowledge of Publix’s digital communications platforms (i.e., email, PASSport, Publix Connection), including their structure, capabilities, limitations and audience
Knowledge of Publix’s email style / standards, email processes, email technology capabilities and limitations (including email security), email setup for store locations and distribution lists
Knowledge of Publix’s business area structure and operational environments
Knowledge of Associated Press style
Knowledge of Publix’s style and brand guides
Basic knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop, SAP, Sitecore, and ContentCenter
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
