Job Summary

The Material Handler is essential to efficient movement of materials throughout the manufacturing facility. Duties include safely moving, loading, unloading, stack, store components within the facility with : accuracy, attention to detail, exceptional work ethic, willingness to adapt, and a positive attitude are essential to success in this role.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times. Must stay focused on maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate high level of good housekeeping practices to promote a safe work environment
  • Safely operate the stand up and sit-down forklifts and report any safety or mechanical issues
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse that is compliant with food safety initiatives.
  • Unload inbound freight and accurately complete receiving reports
  • Pull and stage materials for use by production
  • Affix proper storage unit labels to the inbound components
  • Use SAP RF scanner equipment transactions of incoming / outbound pet food.
  • Process SAP transaction for production line components pull and return to warehouse stock
  • Load outbound materials properly into vehicles as required, to prevent shifting, or damage during transit
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Profile

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Two years (2) years of warehouse experience preferred.
  • Experience using SAP preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, read, and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently bend and squat
  • Proficiently operate a sit-down and stand up fork lift
  • Work Environment

  • Exposure to hot and cold warehouse climate
  • Frequent exposure to motorized warehouse equipment
  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and stooping
