POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The integration / data engineer manages system integrations and data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow between applications. They will also design and execute data migration plans.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, or relevant field5+ years of experience with data integration, ETL development, or data engineeringExtensive experience in large scale design and implementation projectsStrong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML and message queuesExperience with relational and non-relational databasesMaster's in Computer Science, or related field (desired)Experience working with education systems or Department of Education (desired)CERTIFICATIONS :
Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate or equivalentRESPONSIBILITIES :
Ensure high data quality, accuracy, and reliability across platformsDesign and implement data integration solutionsDevelop scalable, secure data exchange frameworks supporting admissions, enrollment, and reporting workflowsEnsure compliance with DOE data standards, privacy regulations, and data governance policiesTroubleshoot and optimize data flows for performance and accuracyCreate and maintain documentation for data migrationSKILLS :
Proficient working with SQL Server, SSIS, PowerShell, REST APIs, JSON, XMLStrong knowledge of FERPA, Federal Privacy Act and other data privacy standardsStrong knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, database systems, API development, and data governanceAbility to work collaboratively with cross functional teams as well as independentlyAbility to clearly communicate risks, obstacles, and issues
