Job Description

We are looking for a Building Engineer to join our dynamic team at a premier commercial office property in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. As the go-to person for all things related to building maintenance and operations, you will play a vital role in keeping our property running smoothly and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for our tenants and visitors. If you have a practical mindset, a keen attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with building systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other equipment.
  • Maintain and repair building equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, and electrical devices.
  • Assist with installing, calibrating, and adjusting building systems as needed.
  • Perform repairs to ceilings, doors, walls, floors, and hardware. Painting included.
  • Evaluate maintenance processes and recommend time- and cost-saving improvements.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and tenant service requests.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify hazards, maintenance needs, and code compliance.
  • Operate and maintain fire and life safety systems to meet all safety requirements.
  • Ensure all operations meet local codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency with tools, equipment, and systems used in building maintenance.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all weather.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and computers for work order management.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with tenants and vendors.
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
