Firefighter Instructor
You will conduct academic classes in hydraulics, chemistry of fire, hazardous materials, and strategies on structures, aircraft and shipboards.
You will ensure that workload is balanced at the fire / rescue scene or in the station.
You will manage status and progress of work and make adjustments as needed.
Requirements :

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications :
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :
Supervises a crew of 3 or more firefighters, including at least one firefighter assigned to staff a major piece of motorized firefighting apparatus such as a pumper, aerial truck, ambulance or airport rescue firefighting in support of their assigned duties; trains firefighters in hose evaluations, technical rescue work, fire inspections pre fire planning, forcible entry, salvage and overhaul work.Certifications :
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications : Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, Airport Firefighter, Hazmat Awareness, Operations, Technician, and Hazmat Incident Command, Driver Operator Pumper. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT). If you do not possess all of the above certifications, and provide verification with your application, you will be rated ineligible.
