About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Port Operating Officer (CPOO) to serve as the senior operational leader for its maritime functions. The CPOO will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and forward-looking delivery of cargo and cruise operations, terminal logistics, facilities management, and port infrastructure. This high-impact role demands a professional with maritime expertise, strategic agility, and hands-on leadership to ensure operational excellence across all maritime functions. The successful candidate will lead operational strategy, oversee daily and strategic operations, and ensure compliance with global maritime and safety standards. Additionally, the CPOO will be tasked with driving continuous improvement, fostering a culture of safety, service, and excellence, and influencing financial performance and long-term strategy. Candidates for the CPOO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree strongly preferred, and at least 12-15 years' experience in maritime transportation or logistics, including 8-10 years in terminal operations or management. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising staff and leading operational teams, as well as a proven track record in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and operational leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, planning, and organizational skills, and experience in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making. Certifications in maritime safety, operations, or project management are strongly preferred. The CPOO will also be expected to manage labor relations in a unionized environment, ensure security and emergency preparedness, and engage with external stakeholders on behalf of the company's maritime division.
