Commissioning Field Service Engineer

Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized recruitment firm, is assisting our global manufacturing client in finding a Commissioning Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is a traveling role that is responsible for traveling to customer sites to lead commissioning projects of variable frequency drives.

Must reside within 1 hour of major airport with ability to travel up to 80%

Responsibilities :

Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair of Low Voltage and / or Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

Investigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution

Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction

Participate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs

Carry out preparatory work regarding spare parts, testing of tools and equipment and documentation as required

Submit completed, detailed, and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follows up when needed

Coaches and provides technical guidance to fellow colleagues, departments and customers

Communicate effectively and present information to top management, customers, vendors and other employees of the organization Qualifications :

Associate degree in electrical field and 2+ years of experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC / DC drive systems and their associated control

Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals and technical specifications

Ability to travel up to 80 percent of the time

Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule

Must already be authorized to work within the United States.
