Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Resident Assessment;Assess the overall condition of residents, monitoring vital signs, oxygen saturation, and lung sounds, to determine the need for adjustments or interventions.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the nursing team to develop individualized care plans and interventions based on each resident's specific needs.Direct Patient Care :Administer treatments and medications, including respiratory medications, as ordered.
Perform suctioning, tracheostomy care, and other necessary respiratory procedures to ensure the comfort and safety of ventilator-dependent residents.Assist with daily activities such as positioning, feeding, and grooming while prioritizing respiratory care.Emergency Response :Be prepared to act quickly in emergency situations such as ventilator malfunction, respiratory distress, or equipment failure, implementing CPR or other life-saving interventions as necessary.
Work closely with the healthcare team to stabilize residents in critical situations.Documentation & Communication :Accurately document all assessments, ventilator settings, and patient care in accordance with clinical and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain thorough records of respiratory treatments, resident progress, and any changes in condition.Communicate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, family members, and the rest of the nursing team to ensure optimal care and understanding.Collaboration & Teamwork :Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage and adjust care plans for ventilator-dependent residents.
Educate families and caregivers on ventilator care, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.Required Qualifications :
LPN or RN License in Idaho.Ventilator Experience (preferred) : Previous experience working with ventilators, respiratory care, or critical care nursing is ideal.Clinical Expertise : Understanding of respiratory anatomy and physiology, ventilator settings, and common complications associated with mechanical ventilation.CPR / BLS Certification (required)Strong Critical Thinking & Assessment Skills : Ability to quickly identify changes in resident condition and initiate appropriate interventions.Excellent Communication Skills : Clear and compassionate communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team.What You Bring to the Table :

Salary Description
$40-$55 / hour
