Summary :

We are representing a well-established and respected general contractor with a strong portfolio of commercial, institutional, and public works projects throughout California. This company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support senior project leadership in planning, executing, and delivering high-quality construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors while contributing to successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Support Project Managers in overseeing day-to-day project operations from preconstruction through closeout

Prepare, review, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation

Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and forecasts

Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance

Coordinate communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams

Monitor field activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project requirements

Facilitate project meetings, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items

Assist with procurement activities including bid solicitation, material ordering, and subcontractor agreements

Maintain accurate and organized project records for reporting and compliance purposes

Provide general administrative and technical support to ensure efficient project delivery

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role in commercial or public works construction

Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite

Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulatory requirements

Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
