Your Opportunity : Join our exceptional OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, known for its 24 / 7 on-site heart-care team and innovative medical specialties delivered with compassion.
Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shift, either 8 or 10-hour shifts; Monday to Friday with on-call responsibilities. Majority of on-call slots are overnight, typically requiring arrival within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment conducive to optimal patient care by employing aseptic surgical techniques and preparing materials for surgical procedures.Assist with gowning, gloving, and draping the surgical area while providing a sterile field for instruments and supplies.Set up the operating room for each case, moving equipment and performing environmental disinfection.Act as a Second Assistant as needed and ensure the proper functioning of equipment and supplies.Transport patients and maintain specialty carts, checking for completeness and availability.Demonstrate knowledge specific to patient care across all age groups and respond to their needs accordingly.Licensure, Education, and Experience :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of hire.Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.No prior experience is required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Familiarity with surgical techniques and operating room equipment.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Basic computer proficiency.Commitment to maintaining annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.Physical Requirements :
Able to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and complete physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and transferring patients.Available to wear appropriate protective gear including masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns.Must be able to engage in physical activities necessary to carry out job duties effectively.This description highlights the essential functions of the role, but it is not an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned.
