Senior Electrical Engineer
The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a critical role within our multidisciplinary engineering team, with a strong focus on PLC programming and automation systems. This position is responsible for researching, planning, designing, implementing, and validating electrical systems and controls, with a particular emphasis on developing PLC logic using ladder logic and structured text for Allen Bradley and Schneider Electric platforms. The role also includes documentation of technical work, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Design and develop electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Create back panel layouts and interpret mechanical drawings for electrical integration.
- Develop and implement PLC programs using ladder logic and structured text for Allen Bradley (RSLogix / Studio 5000) and Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure / Unity Pro) controllers.
- Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software systems.
- Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, actuators, and other control devices.
- Conduct system testing, simulation, and validation of control logic.
- Research and specify components for electrical assemblies and automation systems.
- Maintain and apply standards such as UL 508a, NEC, NFPA 86, SIL, and ISO machine safety.
- Generate and maintain electrical bills of materials and design documentation.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to support technical aspects of proposals and quotes.
- Provide technical support during assembly, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in malfunctioning equipment using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Participate in design reviews and work closely with Systems Engineering to ensure feature alignment and implementation.
Essential Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (BSEE preferred).57 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on industrial automation.Proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic and structured text) for Allen Bradley and Schneider PLCs.Strong understanding of control systems, electrical theory, and logic control.Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and other design / drafting tools.Schematic design and BOM development experiencePay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00 / hr.
