Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Estimator in San Diego, CA. The Project Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans and drawings, creating material and labor estimates, developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors, working closely with project managers to develop strategies to reduce costs, and monitoring project progress to ensure costs are in line with forecasts. The Project Estimator will decide the projected time frame needed to complete a project and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets and potential setbacks. Each project here at is custom and unique so advanced knowledge of custom fabrication processes is essential.
Qualifications
Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
High proficiency in ability to read and interpret technical documents and architectural plans
Exceptional time management skills
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Experience as a millwork or construction estimator and / or a degree in Building Construction Management
5 years minimum as estimator in a similar industry (ex. millwork, custom manufacturing, metal shop)
Basic 3D CAD software experience (ex. Rhino, SketchUp, other) as required for dimensioning and understanding of project scope
