Description :

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring our bakery operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art bakery equipment while contributing to the production of premium artisan sourdough products that delight customers nationwide.

Schedule : 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (must be available for this schedule)

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management & Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex bakery equipment, including both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs on all production equipment
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance based on work orders and established PM schedules
  • Monitor machinery performance to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize operational efficiency

Technical Expertise

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with 3-phase power systems and motor control circuits
  • Troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems
  • Anticipate potential problems and implement proactive solutions in a timely manner
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for equipment improvements and operational enhancements
  • Inventory & Communication

  • Track and communicate parts inventory needs based on usage patterns to the Plant Engineer
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities
  • Safety & Compliance

  • Strictly adhere to company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety protocols
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas before shift completion
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a culture of workplace safety
  • Additional Duties

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians as needed
  • Position Details

    Reports to : Chief Maintenance Engineer

    Application Deadline : August 20, 2025

    Starting Salary : $32 / hour (competitive compensation based on experience)

    Schedule : 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (flexibility required for weekend coverage and occasional holidays based on operational needs)

  • Requirements :

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    One of the following :

  • Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school in a related technical field
  • Three years of hands-on experience in maintenance of industrial or food manufacturing equipment
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience
  • Technical Skills

  • Essential : Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities for electrical and mechanical systems
  • Highly Preferred : Electrical experience with industrial systems
  • Preferred : Prior experience with bakery processing equipment, ovens, and food production machinery
  • Demonstrated ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls
  • Work Requirements

  • Availability : Must be able to commit to a 4-day, 10-hour per day schedule
  • Flexibility : Willingness to work weekend days and occasional holidays based on operational needs
  • Reliability : Strong attendance record and commitment to meeting scheduled work requirements
  • Physical Requirements

    This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks in an industrial environment :

  • Sustained Activity : Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday
  • Lifting Requirements : Must be able to frequently lift and move items weighing over 75 pounds with assistance
  • Environmental Conditions : Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of bakery operations
  • Mobility : Capability to access equipment in confined spaces and elevated positions safely
