We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring our bakery operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art bakery equipment while contributing to the production of premium artisan sourdough products that delight customers nationwide.
Schedule : 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (must be available for this schedule)
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Management & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex bakery equipment, including both mechanical and electrical systems
- Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs on all production equipment
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance based on work orders and established PM schedules
- Monitor machinery performance to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize operational efficiency
Technical Expertise
Diagnose and resolve issues with 3-phase power systems and motor control circuitsTroubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical and mechanical systemsAnticipate potential problems and implement proactive solutions in a timely mannerIdentify and recommend opportunities for equipment improvements and operational enhancementsInventory & Communication
Track and communicate parts inventory needs based on usage patterns to the Plant EngineerMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentationCollaborate effectively with production teams to coordinate maintenance activitiesSafety & Compliance
Strictly adhere to company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety protocolsMaintain clean, organized work areas before shift completionFollow all safety procedures and contribute to a culture of workplace safetyAdditional Duties
Support special projects and initiatives as assignedParticipate in continuous improvement effortsProvide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians as neededPosition Details

Starting Salary : $32 / hour (competitive compensation based on experience)

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following :
Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school in a related technical fieldThree years of hands-on experience in maintenance of industrial or food manufacturing equipmentEquivalent combination of relevant education and practical experienceTechnical Skills
Essential : Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities for electrical and mechanical systemsHighly Preferred : Electrical experience with industrial systemsPreferred : Prior experience with bakery processing equipment, ovens, and food production machineryDemonstrated ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems and motor controlsWork Requirements
Availability : Must be able to commit to a 4-day, 10-hour per day scheduleFlexibility : Willingness to work weekend days and occasional holidays based on operational needsReliability : Strong attendance record and commitment to meeting scheduled work requirementsPhysical Requirements
This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks in an industrial environment :
Sustained Activity : Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workdayLifting Requirements : Must be able to frequently lift and move items weighing over 75 pounds with assistanceEnvironmental Conditions : Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of bakery operationsMobility : Capability to access equipment in confined spaces and elevated positions safely
