Job Description Summary :

The CO I monitors and operates the control console of either a mainframe digital computer or a group of minicomputers, in accordance with operating instructions, to process data. This operator may test run new or modified programs and assists in modifying systems or programs. The operator works under close personal supervision and is provided detailed written or oral guidance before and during assignments. As instructed, this worker resolves common operating problems May serve as an assistant operator working under close supervision or performing a portion of a more senior operator's work.

The CO I (referred to as a Data Collector) will observe the activities and actions of test participants and record observations and data onto preprinted and automated / electronic data collection forms. This encompasses data entry when required. The CO I will conduct both manual and automated quality control checks of data and investigate / resolve anomaly and request for information data. The CO I will be responsible for accounting of data collected and connecting to the internet to upload data. The CO I may be responsible for scanning paper-based data products to digital format and shredding the paper-based copies. This position requires knowledge of the Windows Operating System, Windows Explorer, Wi-Fi connection, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Teams. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  • Must have the ability to communicate information over radio so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the test subject).
  • May frequently move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across field or office locations.
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Constantly operates a computer.
  • Must be able to walk several miles over unimproved terrain while collecting data.

Requirements :

Minimum Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must hold US Citizenship.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Common Access Card and Local Area Network account required.
  • Valid State driver's license and car insurance for access to military installations and travel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quality control and data management.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Two years’ experience in automated data processing or other similar administrative occupation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of quality control capabilities, handwriting skills, and data collection knowledge and use of EWSS and ATOM.
  • Must be able to demonstrate laptop connectivity to Wi-Fi and navigation means.
  • Must be able to travel and be fit to work in a field environment which requires walking over unimproved terrain.
  • Must be able to use tablets for electronic data collection.
  • Must be able to carry a data collection kit consisting of a backpack, laptop, charging devices, clipboard, GPS, and necessary hydration needs.
  • College coursework in a computer-related field is desirable.
  • This is a Service Contract Act position, subject to all conditions of the Service Contract Act.
