Position : LPN – Addiction Rehab (4th Floor | B08023)

Unit Type : Psychiatric / Addiction Recovery

Division : Nursing – Acute Care

Shift : Nights, 8-hour shifts

Guaranteed Hours : 37.5 per week

Start Requirements : 1 year minimum experience

License Required to Submit : Yes

BSN Required : No

Orientation : 5 days unit-specific

Certifications Required

  • BLS (AHA)
  • De-escalation Training

    • (ACLS preferred in some notes)

    Unit & Patient Details

  • Capacity : 23 patients (voluntary, stable)
  • Common Diagnoses : Alcohol withdrawal, crack / cocaine, PCP, substance abuse recovery
  • Patient Type : Ages 18+ in detox / rehab
  • Nurse Responsibilities : Admissions, meds, monitoring detox symptoms, EKGs, phlebotomy
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : No set ratios (counselor-led unit)
  • IVs : Rare—only in medical emergency
  • Restraints : None (voluntary unit)

    • Support & Operations

  • EMR : Allscripts
  • Techs : None
  • Charge / Leadership : PCM available; after hours on-call
  • Respiratory Therapy : Not available (RNs handle oxygen as needed)
  • Tele / EKG : Performed by RN
  • Trauma Level : Not Applicable / Not Specified

    • Scheduling Requirements

  • Weekends : Every other weekend
  • Holidays : 1 winter + 1 summer holiday
  • Call Required : No

    • Floating

  • May float to :

    • Addiction Rehab sister unit

  • Clinic
  • Psychiatry (if experienced)

    • (Night float escorted by security)
