Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private four-year liberal arts college located in Atlanta, GA. The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education. Position Description The Department of Economics invites applications for a one-year full time position as an instructor. We seek outstanding instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching and the ability to work productively with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses at the undergraduate level in research methods, principles of microeconomics or macroeconomics, elective courses such as women in the economy or environmental economics and econometrics. Candidates with a demonstrated history of teaching and mentoring are encouraged to apply. The course load will be a 4 : 4. All courses will be taught in person.

This position is contingent upon the availability of sufficient funding. Qualifications MA. in economics or 18 graduate hours in economics. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to experiential learning and innovative teaching, as well as a proven track record in the ability to transfer her / his research experience to the classroom The candidate must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, at all levels.
