Web Developer Senior (Part-time) - Staff Pool

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience and at least one (1) year of programming experience in a web-based environment.
  • Experience in both Windows and Macintosh environments.
  • Preferred : Experience in multimedia design and programming in a higher education or community college setting.
  • Experience administering learning management systems such as WebCT and Blackboard Vista.
  • Experience training and supporting faculty in producing online course materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to manage technology projects through all phases from planning to production.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a diverse educational environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming, web technologies, information architecture, server / client interaction, interface design, usability, open standards, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Proficiency with web development tools to create complex websites and applications.
  • Expertise in HTML / XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and server / client-side scripting languages such as ASP, PHP, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with multimedia authoring tools for audio, video, and multimedia products.
  • Strong background in developing and managing content management systems.
  • Proficiency with standard office and multimedia software applications.
  • Education

    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Web Production, Instructional Technology, or related field required. Eight (8) years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
