Maverik / Kum & Go is looking to add an Environmental Compliance Manager to our Des Moines, Iowa, team! We are searching for the right person to manage EPA and DEQ compliance for + convenience stores.

In this role, you'll interface with regulators and coordinate UST testing and inspections to ensure Maverik / Kum & Go continues to protect the environment and maintain high standards of regulatory compliance. You’ll remotely collaborate with our experienced environmental team headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Manages state- by- state federal regulatory environmental compliance reporting for USTs at all Company locations and schedules annual triennial testing of UST components and leak detection devices
• Oversees and updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance and manages in-house online documentation repository for all compliance related documents
• Monitors regulatory compliance changes in each state and communicates changes to stakeholders in a timely manner
• Manages process for maintaining appropriate operator qualification / training and certification for employees at all Company locations, abiding by federal rules and the rules pertaining to the state the store resides in
• Works with Risk Management for UST system insurance coverages, whether self, agency, or state insured; and maintains documentation library identifying all systems covered and any other pertinent information
• Manages state insurance requirements through state insurance fund and / or commercial insurance obtained through Maverik’s Risk Assessment Department, filing registration change for new or decommissioned assets, and renewals of UST systems insurance and provide necessary reports to the Director
• Prepares appropriate documentation prior to the scheduled regulatory inspection to minimize exposure to potential fines and works with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues within regulatory and budget constraints
