Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and initiate care for inmates / patients requiring mental health services throughout the facility.
• Assess inmates / patients in various settings to evaluate their mental health status and needs.
• Identify mental health issues and prescribe treatment under the supervision of a physician.
• Implement mental health services and treatment plans using therapeutic regimens approved by psychiatrists.
• Provide mental health education to inmates / patients, healthcare teams, and correctional staff to promote understanding and effective care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all mental healthcare contacts in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Adhere to all safety and security policies, participate in disaster drills, and follow established security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Delegate infection control tasks and supervise infection control practices to maintain a safe environment.
• Follow Universal Precautions and other infection control protocols to ensure safety across the facility.
• Utilize personal protective equipment as required during treatment and care delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall function and safety of the facility.
