Develop integrated transportation plans, studies, and investment programs; coordinate with and participate in state, regional and local planning efforts; and prepare and implement a program of public involvement. This position defines scope, objectives, risk and analysis in the preparation of statewide, district, modal, system, corridor, and project plans / studies and in the implementation and monitoring of investments in the transportation program.
Job duties :
- Working knowledge of the theory and practice of comprehensive regional and community planning, with the focus on transportation, land use, economic development and stakeholder collaboration
- Working knowledge of the theory and practice of performance-based transportation planning and investment management.
- Proficiency in data analysis and quantitative skills sufficient to critically evaluate needs and design responses
- Proficiency in writing, graphic and report design for management, legislators, the public and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to design, develop, guide and manage projects to meet office and department schedules.
- Ability to provide consultation and develop credibility and trust with MnDOT customers, managers and staff at all levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of advanced professional transportation planning experience at the local, metropolitan or state level.
Please note :
A Bachelor's or master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.
