Growing national GC is in search of a Traveling Superintendent to join their East Coast team. Project types include Light Industrial / Manufacturing, Warehouse, Process Piping, F&B. Average project length of 90 days! Excellent pay and benefits.
POSITION SUMMARY : Individual will have overall construction responsibilities for Light Industrial, Manufacturing, Warehouse, civil and structural projects. Superintendent will ensure safe and successful delivery of the project within budget and schedule and will manage vendors, subcontractors, and field staff throughout the project coordinating day to day activities of construction with the client’s processes and operations.
JOB DUTIES :
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, safely and within budget.
- Supervise and manage on-site construction teams and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and architects to resolve any on-site issues.
- Communicate regularly with site specific owner and stakeholders to coordinate activities and provide updates on project progress.
- Implements the site-specific safety program and ensures compliance with company’s program, client’s program, and OSHA’s safety regulations and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications and expectations.
- Tracks and manages labor productivity, materials, and subcontractor performance.
- Establish and hold regular subcontractor meetings coordinating work and site activities with documentation through meeting minutes.
- Coordinates project plans with subcontractor submittals and installation.
- Document project construction though red line makeups and as-built drawings.
- Reviews project drawings and specifications to ensure subcontractor, material and equipment compliance and identify potential document conflicts.
- Maintains clear and accurate project documentation, such as reports, RFIs, meeting minutes, program compliance audits, schedules, and drawings.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
5 years supervisory experience in an industrial construction environment.Extensive knowledge of construction processes and procedures for earthwork, concrete, structural steel, electrical, plumbing and mechanical. Experience in food and beverage manufacturing facilities is a plus.Able to manage multiple subcontractors, and stakeholders simultaneously.Able to read, interpret and execute construction drawings, specifications and work plans.Flexible and able to travel (up to 100%).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
