- This position is responsible for operating sugar-processing machinery associated with the functions in Affination, White Side Centrifugals, Press Floor, Decolorization or Liquid Sugar.
FUNCTIONS
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Knows, and observes all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, environmental practices and GMP guidelines.Responsible for operating and maintaining sugar processing and peripheral equipment in the assigned area according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Responsible for troubleshooting all problems that occur on sugar processing and peripheral equipment and requesting mechanical or electrical assistance when needed.Responsible for cleaning, inspection and lubrication on all machinery within their scope of authority.Responsible for process quality and Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Performs quality checks at prescribed intervals to ensure the best quality products are being produced. Initiate documentation and provide signature to verify compliance with all required quality & SQF checks for the assigned area.Responsible for the cleanliness / Five S of the area assigned.Perform duties with minimum of supervision.Additional Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to add subtract multiple and divide without a calculator. Ability to calculate proportions, decimals, fractions, ratios percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Experience and ability to troubleshoot technical equipment problems such as valves, pumps, agitators, conveyors, elevators, motors, tanks, mixers, and process instrumentation.While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The associate is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance. The associate must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The following are the preferred qualifications :
