At EY, we shape careers through confidence, diversity, and global collaboration. The Deals – Financial Diligence – Sell Side team tackles complex divestitures, carving out financial statements, SEC filings, and advisory work for CEOs, Boards, Private Equity, and Governments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the execution of transformational sell-side deals, integrating into complex client teams and cultivating lasting relationships.
Develop, mentor, and coach staff and senior colleagues to advance their professional growth.
Coordinate with International Tax, Transaction Services, Valuation Modeling, and Economics teams on carve-out financial statements and related audits.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Experience with divestitures, carve-outs, spins, and full-enterprise sales for private investors and corporate buyers.
Strong analytical capability to review accounting records, conduct management interviews, and translate complex data into actionable insights.
Proficiency in preparing SEC filings, including carve-out audited financial statements.
Staying current on industry trends, cash-flow seasonality, and technology trends to provide authoritative client guidance.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of Alteryx and Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 years of related work experience, or a graduate degree with ~4 years of related experience.
Significant public-accounting experience.
Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to communicate complex insights to executives.
Strong prioritization and adaptability to new challenges and concepts.
Solid negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
Residency or commutable distance to the office location and willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours as required.
Proven ability to identify and assess business and technical issues, distill insights, and deliver strategic recommendations.
Ideal Qualifications
Proven record of excellence in audit and / or mergers & acquisitions transaction roles.
Active CPA certification.
Experience in a large professional services organization.
Established networking skills within the relevant industry.
Experience leveraging firm-approved AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation : $120,400 to $220,700 (U.S. all locations); $144,500 to $250,900 (NYC / MMA, Washington State, California excluding Sacramento). Salary determined by numerous factors.
