Position Overview

As a skilled paramedic, you will serve as a crucial emergency response medical professional, providing immediate medical assistance to individuals in crisis due to accidents, violence, or sudden health conditions such as heart attacks or strokes. You will deliver advanced life support care from the first contact until the patient is turned over to the medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public service events and provide standby ambulance services as required.
• Document thorough assessments and treatments in patient care software.
• Assist patients facing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic emergencies with appropriate medical and therapeutic care.
• Work collaboratively as part of a two-member ambulance crew, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Utilize medical equipment like bag valve masks, defibrillators, and EKGs for advanced life support.
• Evaluate the severity of injuries or illnesses to determine and prioritize necessary medical actions such as stabilization and transport.
• Drive and operate emergency vehicles safely, following dispatcher instructions to reach specified locations.
• Administer medications via injection, IV, or orally as directed by a physician.
• Coordinate with medical professionals at treatment facilities for further patient care directives.
• Maintain hygiene by cleaning and decontaminating the ambulance after transporting infectious disease patients, reporting any cases as required.

Physical Requirements

The role involves lifting over 50 lbs, pushing / pulling up to 140 lbs, and carrying 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent activities include standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
