The Central Processing Lead (CP lead) is responsible for the oversight of CP staff, care and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies. Maintains the CPD department / processes according to facility accepted nationally recognized standards. Assures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment (including loaned instruments). Demonstrates good knowledge of principles and practices of documentation of sterilization process. Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment and instruments for all procedures performed in the operating room. Oversees all of the activities in the Central Processing Department to assure sterility compliance and availability of necessary instruments.
Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, co-workers, and the surgery center and adhering to the HIPAA policy. Reports, in good faith, any known or suspected activity that appears to violate laws, rules, regulations or the Code of Conduct. Fulfills annual continuing education requirements.
