LHH is seeking an Engineering Program Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement opportunity with a leading manufacturing company in the Central Indiana area (Indy / Lafayette). In this role, you will take ownership of engineering programs focused on new product development, guiding projects from concept through successful launch. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and serve as a key liaison between engineering, operations, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of innovative solutions. This company also offers relocation assistance for qualified candidates. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $115,000 annually, plus bonus potential. Responsibilities
Lead engineering programs from initial design through production release, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for internal teams and customer-facing milestones, providing regular updates to leadership.
Oversee program budgets, approve purchase orders, and monitor expenses to maintain financial compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to assigned programs, collaborating with engineering, sales, and client services to resolve issues quickly.
Conduct design reviews with internal teams and external partners to ensure manufacturability and compliance with specifications.
Perform APQP, PPAP, and / or Finite Element Analysis as needed to validate designs and processes.
Drive successful product launches by coordinating deliverables, managing inventory transitions, and implementing process improvements based on feedback.
Validate new designs, troubleshoot quality concerns, and perform root cause analysis during early production phases.
Partner with operations and leadership to align daily activities with overall program objectives.
Conduct initial and ongoing product performance evaluations to ensure quality and reliability.
Qualifications
Required : Hands-on experience managing engineering programs and new product development within a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management and / or new product development.
Background in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
Ability to interpret blueprints and CAD designs.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
