Maintenance Technician - Bakery & Restaurant
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep for our bakery and restaurant facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure all equipment, building systems, and facilities remain in optimal working condition to support daily operations.
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, steamer kettles, and warming equipment at multiple locations.Service bakery-specific equipment such as mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and refrigeration unitsTroubleshoot and repair dishwashers, ice machines, and beverage dispensersPerform routine maintenance on HVAC systems and ventilation hoodsMaintain walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigeration systemsRepair or replace small kitchen appliances and equipment as neededBuilding & Facility Maintenance
Repair and adjust doors, including hinges, locks, closers, and weather strippingMaintain interior and exterior door hardware and ensure proper operationPerform basic plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixturesHandle electrical repairs such as replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, and ballastsRepair walls, ceilings, and floors including patching, painting, and tile replacementMaintain dining room furniture, fixtures, and equipmentPreventive Maintenance
Conduct regular inspections of all equipment and building systemsDevelop and maintain preventive maintenance schedulesKeep detailed maintenance logs and equipment recordsOrder parts and supplies as neededCoordinate with external vendors and contractors when specialized service is requiredSafety & Compliance
Ensure all repairs meet health department, fire, and safety code requirementsMaintain clean and organized work areasRespond promptly to emergency maintenance situationsFollow proper lockout / tagout proceduresQualifications
Required
2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in food service or hospitalityKnowledge of commercial kitchen and bakery equipmentBasic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skillsAbility to read equipment manuals and technical diagramsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesPhysical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various positionsPreferred
Technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or related fieldExperience with commercial refrigeration systemsFamiliarity with health department regulationsWelding or fabrication skillsWork Schedule
Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as neededOn-call availability for emergency repairs
