Position Summary :

As an Assistant Coach for NJIT's intercollegiate Men's & Women's Cross Country / Track & Field teams, this function finds the incumbent responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the proper and overall management of the Track & Cross Country programs. To accomplish this role, responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :

Essential Functions :

1. Coaching Activities : This function finds the incumbent providing a full array of services related to the Cross Country Track & Field Program. By way of illustration and not limitation, this function :

• Assists in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training and competition with a special emphasis with the distance runners.
• Assists in the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes for the intercollegiate Men's & Women's Cross Country Track & Field program, in accordance with NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines and standards.
• Assist in monitoring distance training and practice sessions, and ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
• Provide assistance in the coordination and administration of the program as required

2. NCAA Compliance : Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA rules, regulations, bylaws, constitutions and related university rules, regulations and policies.

3. Maintain current health care certifications. (First aid, CPR / AED).

Must be available for early morning training sessions and some weekends.

Salary Information :

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $7,500. (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
